Moon castle

The Moon Castle is one of the most iconic and outstanding historical remains of Rianxo. Located next to the coastline, in the middle of the Arousa estuary, today only the remains of what was once an important fort for surveillance and defence survive.
Built in the 13th century, it underwent significant modifications throughout history, being demolished and rebuilt until it fell into disuse in the 15th century. Recently, work has been carried out on the surrounding area to address the recovery of these ruins, which continue to arouse the interest of visitors and to which myths and legends are associated.
