Rianxiño Castro

Imaxe por defecto
The Castro de Rianxiño is an important archaeological site dating back to the Iron Age. This ancient fortified village, located in a strategic enclave overlooking the Arousa estuary, offers a window into Galicia's pre-Roman past.
Although partially preserved, its remains allow us to appreciate the elliptical structure with very softened defences, a fact that would be explained by the importance of agricultural work. Originally there was probably a moat around it, which would later be used as a passageway. The Castro de Rianxiño is a fascinating testimony to the past and a place of interest for those who wish to explore the historical origins of the region.
