Monte da Pena burial mounds

Imaxe por defecto
The Monte da Pena burial mounds are a group of burial mounds dating from the megalithic period, made up of four burial mounds located next to Monte da Pena and Monte Pelotiña.
The mounds vary in size, from approximately 25 to 30 metres, and are about 2 metres high. These ancient burial mounds, made up of mounds of earth and stone, are a fascinating testimony to the ritual and funerary practices of the prehistoric communities that inhabited the region. Located in a natural setting of great beauty, the burial mounds offer a window into Galicia's remote past and are an important archaeological and cultural resource for understanding the origins of Galician history.
