Xunqueiras tower

The Xunqueiras Tower is named after Fernán Martín de Xunqueiras, who commissioned the construction of this medieval structure in the 13th century, conceived as a defensive tower-fortress.
It was in the 14th century that the palace emerged with Renaissance elements, and new buildings were gradually added, transforming the complex from a former military fortress into a fine example of palatial architecture, also featuring Baroque elements.Access to the complex is via a path flanked by plane trees that ends in a small, fenced French-style garden. The complex was recognized as a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1981 and currently serves as a venue for events and restaurants.
