How to get to Arousa Norte

The Barbanza mountain range and the Ría de Arousa estuary are the natural enclaves that define the Arousa Norte area. Its lands host the municipalities of A Pobra do Caramiñal, Boiro, Rianxo, and Ribeira, collectively known as the Barbanza region.

Located in the southwest of the province of A Coruña, Arousa Norte is well connected to Galicia's major cities: access via the AG-11 Barbanza dual carriageway to the AP-9 Atlántico motorway connects Arousa Norte quickly with nearby cities such as Santiago de Compostela or Pontevedra, as well as more distant cities like Vigo, A Coruña, and Ferrol. Access to Arousa Norte via the AC-305 road also allows for a scenic drive through the various towns that make up the region: coastal villages, urban centres, and small rural hamlets.
